in the morning, mommy and i went to my JJ's place. we walked there... and it started POURING half-way there... so we were freaking soaked, even with an umbrella!!!!! ... we stopped at one point, and hid under a thingy, and waited for the crazy crazy rain to lessen ... we waited for like half an hour - lightning every two seconds, and rain coming down like a river. grrr... then my mom saw a headless rat. it was headless. yup. ... but the cut wasn't as clean as my headless rats. my mom told me that when she worked on a farm before (blame Mao), she used to see cats catch rats all the time. and this is what they do: play with rat, use paw to clamp rat's tail down on the ground, while ripping off the rats head. and apparently, the rat's esophagus, stomach, etc comes a-ripping-out along with the head. woohoo. but i saw no head with a trail... just the body... didn't examine it for fear of diseases... and really, there's no way i'm gonna go examine a wild rat... are you crazy!?!?!
when we FINALLY got there, my JJ dropped my mom off at the bus stop near her workplace (my mom had to go give billy's money to his aunt), and then i went to my JJs workplace (where i am now!) ... i sat down for oh, 5 seconds, before she said "OKay let's go" ... and we took a taxi to this place called "Xiao Yang Sheng Jian", which is on i dunno what road (just asked, it's on "Wu Jiang" Road... for billy's info. dunno where that it is... but it's a "mei shi jie" ("mei shi" street)) ... anyhow, they have the bestest ShenJian (uh... fried buns with meat in it... "sang ji" in shanghainese) in shanghai. it was yum. and huge. and waaaaay more expensive than normal!! it was like 3RMB per "lian", and 4 per "lian" ... there's 10 "lian" in 1 "jin" ... and her company ppl wanted 2Jin, as in 80 of them!!! they're all boys, and crazy. ... we ended up getting them 48 (40 = 1jin, plus the 8 we had left over). we also had soup. it was yummmy!!!! .... then on the way back to the office, my JJ saw an "Illy" coffee stand. ... personaly, i haven't heard of this bradn of coffee, but then again, i don't drink coffee... so we got coffee, then went to the office for about an hour more... before we went out again for food!! it's crazy with her!!!! ... i've gained so much weight with her!! aiya! ... anyways, this next place i went to is like the BESTEST food i've ever had, ever. i htink. i don't remember.
it's called "Ma la tang", i dunno what street it's on... but it's near my JJ's workplace, which is on "RenMin Road", again, for billy's sake. ... it's this hole in the wall place... and it's sorta like hotpot, but not. ... so, u get this little basket, and then u pick out what you want - veggies, meat, etc etc etc. price calculated as per the following: 50cents for veggie sticks, 1yuan for the meat sticks. then they hot pot it in this spicy hotpot thing, and then they put it in soup-base. YUM!!!! ... i dunno why it's so yummy, but it's so yummy!!!!!!!! ... then they bought some fruit, and we went back to my JJs place. then my mommy came over too, and we ate dinner. ...
after dinner, we went for a walk to the police station. ... why? to get a statement to say "munkee lives in shanghai" so that munkee can go to HK and then come back to shanghai cuz my flight leaves from here. and yes, at the police station - wtf?! ... anyways, it turns out that I'm supposed to register where i'm staying within 3 days of landing. WHAT?!?!?! WHAT THE HELL KINDA POLICY IS THAT?!? I'VE NEVER HEARD OF THAT EVER!!!! and apparently, if i wanted to get that statement, i hafta go to the head office, where apparently, they will fine me. WHAT THE FUCK!?!?!? man, it's so stupid here. the lady told me that the customs officers were supposed to tell me. say what?!? when i landed, NOBODY talked to me. i asked them "which form do you want", and guess what, they just took it, and wavfed me on. .... two more forms, two more of this crap. NOBODY talked to me, or anyone else on our freaking plane. so no, no customs officers told me anything. bastards... and trust me, it doesn't say anywhere on the visa application, visa, forms, or anything - i read all the fine print. china is dumb. so we went home, and all hopes of going to HK were shot down. ... oh well..
so we went back to my JJs house... i was supposed to sleep over, but once again, her husband called and said he's coming back. EVERY single time i'm supposed to sleep over, her husband will pop back to shanghai and steal my spot on the bed. *sniff* ... ... but then after the tv show we watched, he called again, cuz the plane flyer/driver dude [forgot what they're' called... ... OH!!!! i know!! PILOT!!!]... right, so the pilot kicked 'em all off the plane... and they got mad and left, so he wasn't coming to shanghai. but by then i was hacking up a lung already, so i decided not to stay over cuz my JJ needed to sleep.... and TT was crying too... so me and mommy walked home while i hacked up another lung... and by the time i got home, i was lung-less and had to walk up 6x2 flights of stairs.... grrrrr!!! then i slept really badly cuz i was hacking up a third lung. yup.
