epiphany.
while waiting for my plane on thursday, i thought to myself, i don't know how leehom does it! i only fly once in a blue moon, but he flies all the time. so he must wait for the damn airplane all the time. plus the hassles of checking in to ur flight, getitng boarding passes, passing through US customs/immigration (which is the crappiest part of flying, btw), then having to wait an hour or more to board! and once u're on the plane - no phone, no cds, no laptop. maybe leehom's more experienced than me, and had his seats booked ahead of time so that he could just check in 10 minutes before boarding or smt. and maybe he's always in first class, so he can pick and choose whatever movie he wants to watch... maybe. but the hassle of all the other stuff doesn't go away - the boredom of waiting to get somewhere (home, esp) must hurt.
this "morning", while tossing and turning in "my" bed, again, i realized what leehom must go through. here, i should mention that 'leehom' could mean anyone who needs to travel a lot for work. everytime i slightly woke up and made a grab for my toy doggy, or was cold and reached for my 'stove', or was hot and reached for my towel blanket, i would come to the stark realization that i was not in my bed, not in my room, not in my house, not with loved ones, not at home. i was all alone, in a lonely city. maybe leehom has bodyguards, maybe they love him. i wonder tho, if he's used to all the foreign beds yet. his beds are probably waaaaaaaaaaay more comfortable than mine here, in this shady shady hotel, but still...
the last parallel may not be true, as i've never personally talked to leehom... but being in a city where u're afraid to go out really sux. i'm scared for my life to go out, leehom may be scared of the fans, i don't know. regardless, being cooped up in my, again, crappy, hotel room alllllllllllll day really bites.
i've come to realize what leehom must go through. he wrote a song, where he says smt like "are you like me? do you move from city to city, hotel to hotel, for work, for life, for 'her'??" .... now i understand the torment that is hotel-to-hotel-living.
