ever heard of it before?!" ... and after a fruitful-less day of
googling it, google-earth-ing it, and searching for onlien maps of
shanghai, i finally asked my mommy. her response: "where?!" ...
"it's in SongJiang, mommy" ... "SongJiang is SW of Shanghai, but i've
never heard of Chedun" .... oh grrreat... so i asked my mommy for my
trusty shanghai map that i couldn't live without while in shanghai,
when my mommy ditched me there, all alone. yes, all alone in shanghai
(i dunno how i survived... lotsa hanging out with my trustee map!!!).
anyway, so i find my trusty map, and search for this supposedly
infamous studio. but of course, the map is of downtown shanghai,
i.e. where i live, and where i play, and where all of my aunts and
uncles and cousins and anyone else to whom i associate with in
shanghai lives and plays! ... SongJiang was on the map, but it took
up about 1/80 of the paper, and Songjiang is bigger than downtown
shanghai in area... so, dissapointedly, i closed the map, and then
discovered that there's a backside to it!!!!! i'm so special.... (i
thought they back just had bus routes/stops/schedules/etc) ...
anyways, the backside had all of shanghai!! yay! so since Songjiang
is so huge, i searched meticulously for this lucid Chedun... but
realizing that i have no idea how to even say it, nor how to write it,
it was rather uh... let's say, tiring. or trying could be used here
too. ... but finally, after a long 5 minutes on the floor searching,
i found it! ... so in the end, it's about 40km from my "house" in
shanghai. i use the word loosely. my mom said she used to go to
school at about there (munkee points to map), which looks to be about
the same distance from my house as the studio is, but to the NW... she
said that was 40km and took about an hr to get to. but now, with
everyone having a car and "highways" and such, i say u could probably
get to the studios from my place in about 40minutes. yup. esp. since
in the outskirts, there r relatively few cars. so, steph, YOU HAFTA
GO!!!!! and take a big camera with u - i know u have one! steal it
from gabe!!!! and don't forget to bring a big long telescopic lens so
zoooom!! ahahahahaa!!! .... riight... but u're probably staying in a
more downtown hotel.... so it'll take longer... but that's okay.
it'll be worth it, girl!!!
and back into the normal world.
got up at 7:20AM today. brushed teeth, washed face, peed, got
dressed, left the house. not necessarily in that order. ... anyways,
then subway stopped TWICE for 10-20minutes each time. first at
Chester, due to problems at Greenwood, even tho we've already PASSED
greenwood!!!!! and then at Sherbourne, due to problems at Donlands,
and once again, we've PASSED donlands!!! wtf!!!! ... finally, i was
able to tranfer, and go to st.patrick stn and get a timmy's new
breakfast sandwich (it's not good) at my new favourite timmy's, along
with an x-large tea. then i ate half the gross sandwich and gave the
rest to andrew, made my gel, drank my tea, and then on with the rest
of the expts.... and now it's 5:38 and i'm done... but just killing
time 'til the subways are less crowded. gworsh commuting sux.
btw, i think harper's an idiot for mesing up relations with china. if
china imposes any sorta visitor ban or importing/exporting ban, I,
along with allllll the other chinese ppl in canada are gonna be
soooooooooooo pissed at harper!!! and for the record, i voted for the
liberals. i mean, good for him for sticking by his morals, but
honestly, I don't care about china's human rights problems - good for
them for killing the drug smugglers and rapists and murderers! it
doesn't affect me! nor does it affect anyone else who don't do "bad"
stuff!!! suure, china's got its problems, but hey, why not let them
deal with it?!?!? why be like the states and butt our canadian nose
into other ppl's problems?!?! we, like it or not, are not the
controllers of the world!!! and if canada pisses china off, and china
goes to war with the states, then we're screwed too. at least if
china-canada has good relations, maybe, hopefully, they'll just atomic
bomb texas - more specifically, Bush's ranch!!!! that's far from
canada, and therefore good for us!! .... the past 3 seasons of 24,
the terrorists have said smt to the effect of americans need to butt
out of other countries' problems... i agree. Harper, BUTT OUT!
on another note. i think china's new one dog policy is weird and
interesting. ... china needs to promote this nuturing (sp?) and
spading thing... weird cousin was all against it. Bob Barker's got it
down! .... one-dog policy... one-child policy. at least this one
won't mess up an entire generation!!!! i hate the one-child policy...
i want a sibling....
