Countdown: 1 day.

grr... i wrote up a bunch of stuff yesterday, but then laptop crashed, AGAIN! .... *sigh* i need a new laptop...

my yesterday:
- Was in an art show. other ppls' art were NICE! they had frames, easles, and even business cards strewn about for the taking! me? i had 9 pictures, 5 of which were normal 4x6's, all printed at Loblaws of all places, printed the night before the show, and thumb-tacked to the board!! yes, thumbtacks! LOL! ... when i went to take down the pics, three ppl came around and were commenting on my pics! :S ... they liked the blue jellyfishy one, which is my favourite picture too. I "autographed" it and gave it to ade, along with i think 2 other pics. then jinhyung took one too. heheheee.... anyway, they were like "frame them! don't put pins thru them!" hahaaa! well, honestly, i didn't take the show too seriously. i was awfully surprised when they accepted my pictures! ... next time, i'll be sure to frame 'em. i promise. :D btw, jinhyung thinks i'm crazy (i showed her the vid ... she agrees he's looking at me, but i'm crazy none-the-less. we already knew that tho, right? :P juz look at my FB pic!)
- Volunteering was madness yesterday. No screeners. Only a co-op student, and ME the volunteer. and cuz of the snowstorm, nobody went home thursday, so EVERYBODY wanted to leave on friday, which means about 30 babies to be screened, PLUS a bunch on 7! .... *sigh* ... Renee was called down to 7th to screen the NICU babes, but she's never actually been down there, EVER! i didn't know that 'til i took her down there. and then realized that they have different procedures than upstairs! and i totally don't remember what these procedures were! oops... luckily, Janice was really nice and showed us everything. we screened a pretty sick baby... i felt so bad for her... poor girl... but she passed! YAY! and her mom was soooooooooooooo nice despite the sickly-ness of her baby, and her brother was sooooo cute and nice too! he was reading my chart as i was writing: "name!" ... "D.... O.... B.... ...what's that? *point*" .... so cute! .... so, in summary, we screen 5 babies on 7th yesterday. that's a world record. it really is. poor renee! so much to do for one person!!!! oh ya, and there was one set of lesbian parents. I went in to ask for consent, and asked if there were any hearing problems on either side of the family... but then realized that it don't matter if the other 'mommy' has hearing problems, cuz the other mommy has no genetic anything with the baby! ... so then i added "that u know of" figuring they probably used a sperm donor or smt.... anyway. dunno if the baby passed, but she looked fine. and they were both really nice. ... OH! and at the end of the "day", renee was like "OH MY GOD! Can i just say, I LOVE YOU!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!" (repeat about 10 times) ... hehehee... i usually get lotsa "thank you"s but not a lotta "i love you"s from them, and less of "i don't know what i would've done without you"! that made me feel good. glad to be of service! will not be there next week - will be in ottawa! good luck! hahaa!

in other news, leehom news (what else would there be? duh) ... so, i checked when Lust, Caution is coming out, and it's scheduled for Sep. 28 of this year (limited release. what does that mean? NY, LA? does TO count?) ... anyway. then i remembered seeing Ang Lee on tv for the TIFF for brokeback, and i was like 'hmmmmm...'... and so I THINK b/c Ang Lee's so big now, that his new movie will be played at the TIFF!! which meeeans! leehom will probably (hopefully) come!!!! yay!! ... CC, what's that chika's name that worked at the TIFF? i forget... she said jim carrey's an asshole? afnm chika... who lost lotsa weight... dang, can't remember her name. ANYWAY, i also checked out the TIFF on wiki, and aparently, it's one of the top 5 film fests around the world! its crazy company includes the Cannes (the biggest/most prestigeous, but it's in May i thikn, so i doubt the movie will be ready by then), Berlin, Sundance, and Venice. wow!! i didn't know we were THAT big! ... and to think, i worked in the bldg that was two bldgs down from RTH!! where all the big stars went... SO, i relaly hope leehom comes, and u can count on it that i WILL be there! .... if i don't get into med, i'll volunteer this year. if i DO get into med, then there's no way i'll be able to volunteer. i just hope i get into U of T, so i don't hafta travel back/miss classes from other schools.... Queen's is tmr.
