i still slightly don't get it tho... if Claire is alive, then how did Sylar live? perhaps Hiro will need to slice and dice Sylar apart now.

Sylar didn't die ... Hiro was supposed to kill him but he didn't. Peter blew up the city (and got that big ass scar as a punishment), President Petrelli blamed Sylar and pretended that Sylar died ... as you saw, totally not the case.
