What the fuck is going on with the Olympics anyway?

I usually take everything i hear on the Chinese channels with a grain of salt - i don't trust their reporting, i know there's a veil they pulled over most if not all events and i try to see thru it. Having said that, i also don't trust anything that CityTV news doles out as "news" on China, nor would i ever read The Sun. But I usually applaud the Globe and Mail for their relatively unbiased reports. ... Except now, with matters surrounding the Olympics, EVERYTHING they write is some sorta political spin that bashes China. Although i can't say i disagree with everything they say, the image they are promoting is that the chinese government NEVER does anything good, nor anything beneficial for its people. If i've never been to China, i would think that the chinese gov't was completely oblivious to all of the needs and wants of all of its citizens, and that they are just saddistic SOBs who should be hung like Saddam Hussein for tormenting its people. ... but i have lived in China, and i agree it's not even close to perfect, but the people of China, for the most part, are proud citizens and for the most part, their needs are met!! and when you write articles like these, it just pisses off the Chinese people who read them and know the truth. Fine, that may not be a very big population, but you're also making a huge deal out of nothing - apparently Chinese people don't know that you're not supposed to wear white socks with black leather shoes and are now being educated on it. Fine, it's a strategy game - now's the perfect time to bash China, it's a fucking free-for-all right now, i get it. but seriously, let's tell the whole world about our embarassments too huh?? Let's tell them about the Walkerton incident and who was responsible and wtf they do "on the job". Let's also tell the world about what's going on with the Aboriginals in Canada. Oh wait, most Canadians don't even know, let alone the rest of the world. Now's a great time to pry in CHina's on internal affairs, but some INTROSPECTION is needed as well.

I am not defending China, nor its policies on its political CRAP. I think the Chinese gov't is just digging itself into a deeper and deeper hole. But i also think that the rest of the world should back off a bit. I hate that the Olympics is a political game. Doesn't the IOC see that its the athletes who suffer?! Some news deserve coverage, but only those that pertain to the ATHLETES who will be competing in the games!!! (e.g. american athletes get masks for the air pollution - good idea. but if they're getting N95 masks, then i will laugh at the stupidity of the idiots running the United fucking States)
