Holiday travelling blues

firstly: Leehom was in Shanghai for NYE?! WHAT THE HELL?!?!? meanwhile, where was i? oh right, get a massage... meh... it was worth it. :P

So... holiday blues...

On the way to HK:
- Plane from Toronto to SFO was delayed because: 1) pilot was late, 2) plane needed to be de-iced - one stupid wing at a time!!! inefficiency!!!
- Missed connection to Japan, was put up at the Westin and given 3x$10 meal vouchers that could ONLY be used in the food places in the hotel ... 'cept a single freaking sandwich (not burger!) there cost >$15USD, plus tax, plus surcharge, plus tip!!! ... so i had soup in a Starbucks cup plus two bread nubbins cuz the guy felt bad for me. i had zero USD on me cuz guess what, i was only supposed to be in SFO for 1.5hrs. but all's not bad. I met up with my cousin, and he took me to ramen place again. and then we went out for bubbletea-like stuff. yay! and he gave me some USD just in case. so ya, it was good to see my cousin again!
- woke up at 4:45AM to get to the airport to catch my plane BACK TO CANADA!!! then was stuck in Vancouver for 5hrs waiting for my flight to HK. But i saw this famous HK dude but i dunno his name, so didn't ask for a picture or anything. I think he lives in vancouver.
- FINALLY got into HK 54hrs after i left my house. ... airport express to HK stn, then cabbed it to where we lived... met Chimney fish, went to McDs. yes, McD's. yes, first meal in HK was McD's. WTF! i hate chimney fish. hope he dies, soon. he's a worthless piece of crap. and no, he's NOT nice. he has zero respect for women, plus his idiotic personality... Just because he wasn't arrested for RAPE doesn't make him a "nice" guy.

On the way back to Toronto:
- Plane from Shanghai to SFO - no problemo! early even!
- SFO to Chicago - LATE, of course. delayed departure time by >1hr!
- Had to literally RUN from concourse C to concourse B (pretty far apart!) to get to my flight to Toronto!!! good thing i wasn't travelling w/ my mom, we would've never made it in time. I got there w/ ~5min to spare. huuuuuge sigh of relief.

Conclusion: always book direct flights during the holidays, or book at least 3hrs between connections in North America (anywhere w/ the possibility of snow)

also, United airplanes SUCK!!!
On the way there was all Air Canada - had my own TV, outlet plug (for my DS), etc
On the way back was all United - NO TV, no outlet!!!!! i had a lotta leg room on the first long filght, which was good. but i was in the middle seat with a kid travelling by himself on one side (he was really cute! and so smart! we did a crossword together). and a really annoying shanghainese bitch on the other side who complained about:
- my restless leg (sorry! can't help it)
- the fact that the flight attendants kept on checking up on the kid (he's 8 and by himself! i'm GLAD they were checking on him!!)
- the fact that the 2.5yo baby behind us wouldn't stop crying
- the fact that the flight attendants got a bit of WATER on her while pouring it into my bottle
I mean really, if u're gonna be complaining the whole time, go sit in business class or first class!!! bitch!!!! I have a horrible impression of Shanghainese women. Everyone else in China is right - they are self-righteous. full-of-themselves, cocky bitches! (on that note, i'm not really shanghainese, and neither are any members of my blood relatives... they live in and speak shanghainese, that's about it. they don't have that in-bred Shanghainese spirit, thank the fucking lord!)
