- "Are you from Taiwan?" <-- yes, to me, this is a compliment!!! :D:D:D:D
Rants:
- A couple of nights ago, I couldn't access google nor gmail!! was so pissed!! I already have to put up with China blocking youtube AND blogspot blogs, now GOOGLE?! what the fucking hell!!! China needs to stop playing these games to show that they're 'bigger'. seriously, just let it go!!! besides, does China really think that by blocking google, they can block porn?? HA! Chinese men are fucking sons of bitches and trust me, they get porn. they get porn EASILY. and i'm sure that the SOBs (all men, i'm sure) who sit atop the high pedestals that they put themselves on are watching porn at home, everyday. fucking double standard!
- When comparing China to the outside world, why do Chinese people ONLY report all the good stuff they have??? yes, China's rich are living fabulous lives. yes, the Chinese are healthier than ever.... but compared to what?! and when?! and who are they selecting their sample from?? of course, only the RICH, the high class, the people who can AFFORD healthcare get access to healthcare and are therefore 'healthier' [debatable]!! We went to a geriatric hospital yesterday (another rant all on its own), and were told that if a geriatrics patient never worked (or if their company has since gone byebye), or if they're on public-funds (90yuan per annum!), then it'll basically cost them 100,000yuan for ~a month of stroke rehab!!! average income here is 3000yuan/mth, and i'm sure that MANY people are unemployed or at least not employed by 'companies' that can or give healthcare coverage!!! wonder how many of the 1.3 billion people in China don't have real-life medical insurance. i'm gonna guess 600,000,000 of them - twice the entire population of the USA, and 20x the population of Canada. Maybe its our socialist "Canadian" upbringing... maybe its all of the DOCH that we've had to do... but these issues are so so so so important. If you think the poor don't deserve medical treatment, then well, you'd fit in well here. I, on the other, do not.

The censorship wall is one of the most important factors the chinese government need to keep themselves in power. Their strategy is the best, brainwash people so thoroughly they will deny they are brainwashed, and therefore only believe what the chinese gov't says. Brilliant.
