almost alone

weeee! parents leaving today. that means ... i'll be FREE!! but it also means i'll be paranoid once again of leaving my house unlocked and thieves... help, i'm pathetic.

Nelly's pictures are GRRRREAT! He's got LeeHom in like TWO of his pictures! ya, that's right, LeeHom!! MY Leehom!! ... okay, so technically, Nelly's got waterbottles in his pictures, and the water bottles have LeeHom's picture on it, but still, LeeHom's face is in Nelly's pictures, and that's all that's important! way to go Nelly!!! (and did u really find that rock with my great-grandpa's name on it?? i'm thinking you took a picture of a random rock... but maybe u care more than i thought u did... if u really went to that rock, tell me what it's like okay? cuz i hopefully won't be going to beijing ever again. we should meet up so u can give me the stuff u got me... hurray for unused barf bags!)

right, and i have FINALLY finished the NSERC/etc applications! FINALLY! sooooooooooooo much photocopying! ... it's kinda ridiculous to apply these awards, cuz i don't actually get the $17,000+. my supervisor gets it. so, basically, i get exactly the amount of money deposited into my bank account as i would even if i didn't apply. so really, where's my benefit? ... oh well... i get more than the Ph.D students in this lab, which is hilarious (but bad for them) and i feel slightly better. at least i'm not really in debt and i won't be for quite a while, hopefully. but money's always good.

there's a picture of an apparently fashionable pin/whatever thing on pg.27 of the metro today. 'cept when i first saw it, it looked like a coloured electron micrograph of a corona virus, comoplete with exterior envelope and everything. it's kinda ugly. but anyhow... going back to being bored now.
