originally, wanted to meet my friends in the morning, but was too sick too. promised aunt we'd eat some of the food in the freezer, so mom and I ate lunch with my uncle (jiujiu; cassandra's dad). it was fun, he's an interesting man.
then, we went to "Si Chuan" Road, where they had a bunch of electronics stores - my dad's heaven. ... but i soon realized that everything there was pretty much second hand. i wanted earphones, but why the fuck would i want earphones that someone else had already worn?!?! so we got a compass and left.
we went to my parents' and grandparents' friends' place. the old lady (and her now deceased husband) were friends were with my grandparents, all four of them. in fact, that's how my parents met, thru the old lady (who, btw, took over my room for like SIX MONTHS when she came to canada... she does accupuncture - she's extremely famous for it too... so ppl invited her to come and do stuff, and she took over my room... grrr...). anyway, their son and my parents are friends too. ... anyways, they currently live where i lived when i was 3. and we drove past my preschool on the way to the restaurant. it looks so different now. a HUUUUUGE road cuts in front of it where there was no road before.... i didn't take pictures cuz i wouldn't recognize it at all if no one told me....
finally, ate dinner at restaurant, really slow service, not so great food, but really yummy soup. it's the new thing in shanghai now - fungus soup - sooooooooooooooo yummy. i get it everywhere we go. ....
the old lady, i call her "gong nainai" - she does scalp accupuncture. she uses western research/knowledge, but uses the chinese traditional accupuncture to do stuff.... her results are amazing. she's really well known all over the world - really cool.
went home.
