Thursday, June 22

today was cool, not weather-wise, but i did a lot today.

so, i woke up, and messaged my JJ that my mom couldn't drop me off at their place (cuz well she wasnt feeling great, and i dunno how to get to her place on my own). .... the night before actually, i was supposed to sleep over at my JJs (in her room)... but she totally forgot that her husband was coming back that night!!! so JUST before i went home after the shower, she called and told me... ... obviously, i'm not sharing a bed with her husband and her....

anyways, she picked me up at the gas stn near my house, and we left. traffic was horrible on the highway, but her car was great. i loooove her car. anyhow, she forgot money, so we had to drive to Kingdee (her husband's company) to pick up money from her husband (my "Jie Fu"... JF)... so, i finally got to see my JF! he's gotten fat. and their son is a carbon copy of my JF!! TT's so cute...

anyway, JF gave JJ 1000RMB and asked "is this enough" ... that's like 10 bills.... it's not actually that much money, esp. for them, but whatever. it was enuff for the day, considering she's got a bunch of credit cards too! ... so, we walked thru this really expensive mall (Gucci, Prada, Versace, etc etc etc were all in there), and went to apparently the best "xiao long xia" (little lobster) restaurant in shanghai. there, we met my JJ's cousin [her name is ShanShan, or SS from now on], and my JJ's secretary. (JJ = ceo of her company. she gets a secretary). anyways, we ordered i think 5 platefuls of these little lobsters, cooked in different ways - it was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo OMG FUCKING DEEEEEELICIOUS!!!!!!! esp. the ones with the onion!! ... so u get a plastic aprona nd gloves when u go, cuz it's a messy process. and then u just dig away at it. omg, it was so yum that i totally forgot to take pictures of it 'til it was all gone! then we ordered another plate. :D heheheee... and i took one picture, then we dug in again. omg, sooooooooo good. i have no idea where it is, so don't ask me, but u ppl definetely hafta go there if/when u ever come to shanghai!!!!

after the yumminess lunch, we went back to kingdee where JJ parked her oh-so-cool car, and we drove to her workplace. she's on the top floor in this really nice building but i dunno where it is cuz we drove and all sense of direction is lost while navigating thru little streets in shanghai. ... there, i got to see the CEO in action. she yells at her employees a lot. i was laughing sooooooooooooooooooooo much!!!!!!!!!! they're all her little slaves, it's so funny!!! but outside work, she's like the nicest boss in the world. at work, she's a bitch, but hey, she gets the job done. and her employees, tho they know they won't be fired, always try to impress her so she won't yell at them. hehehee... soooooooooooooo funny! i sat in the CEO's office, and was online for a bit. i was sick that day too (from the ridiculous shower, and the craziness taht is shanghai: boiling outside, but FREEZING inside all malls, offices, stores - hot/cold/hot/cold make munkee sick)... so she gave me drugs. ... when she was bored again (after yelling at everyone), we left. we actually took a BUS (this amazed me... this is my JJ here, who makes millions of the dollars, AMERICAN dollars, a year... taking the bus... weirdness) ... so yes, we took a bus, ... to a SPA~!!! hahahahaa!!! ... this isn't her usual spa, so there was some confusion as to what she wanted, etc... while i sat there going "uh duh".... cuz i know nothing about spas, facials, etc... especially not in chinese!!!!! ... in the end, we got the same things - back massage, plus hydrating face smt-or-other. ....

SPA: first, we got lockers, which contained slippers, and PJs again. ... 'cept this time, there were PRIVATE changerooms!!! PRIvATE!!!! ... that was fucking amazing. no need to see more naked chikas. ... so then i changed, and took a shower, in a INDIVIDUAL STALL with 3 sides being solid marble, and the last side (the door) being very very frosted glass!!! so happy... i enjoyed that shower... but id idn't wash my hair.... then, a lady took me away from my JJ (they didn't have anymore two-ppl rooms... only individual rooms... which i didn't mind that much, but JJ was a little worried since i know nothing)... anyways, they first gave me a back massage - so comfy... it was great. then she did all this stuff to my face. i think she cleaned my face first, then rinsed it a bunch of times (with towel, not water directly). and then apparently picked all my "xiao dou dou" (zits, kinda... 'cept i don't realy get those honkin' zits... but the air here is horrible, and humidity is crazy, so apparently, i have little deposits of oil on my face... wha?!?!?! i dun get it... but they picked it, and then it took no different from before, so whatever) .... then she tweezer-ed my eyebrows - YAY!!!! less for me to do!!!! ... she was good, fast and painless, and nice results. (my eyebrows look no different... only cleaner - which i like!!!) ... then she put this mask on me (like one of those cucumber masks u see in movies, but no cucumber) ... and then i had to pee. so i walked outside with the mask on, and i was soooooooooooo sleepy (the room is dark with soothing music), so i was almost sleep walking, and the lady had to guide me a lot. ... it was fun... i peed, and then went back, and slept. fun times!!! ... after a bunch more of washes, etc. i was finally done. it was UBER relaxing. spas are crazy expensive even in canada, but man, the feeling u get afterwards is amazing. it was soooooooooooo nice. ... (1400RMB for the two of us ... i.e. $100CDN/person... dunno if that's a good price for 3 hrs)

after spa, we went to this restaurant called "chuan mei zi" near the Bund, on Yan'An Road, i think... my mom and i went there 4 yrs ago (the fact that it's STILL there 4 yrs later means it's a good restaurant), and it was crazy hot (spicy hot... from Szechuan... hence the "chuan" in the name) ... anyways. we had hotpot, and normal ordering of food. hotpot had like no food really. but they got these fishes... the fishes were gutted already, but as soon as the waiter put them in, they started splashing!!! i guess they weren't dead yet!!! or maybe it was just a reflex. it was me, JJ and SS. SS and JJ made me try the frog. i had to try SOETHING new that day, either the frog or the live little fishies after they were cooked... i picked the frog. it was actually quite yummy! 'cept the skin - that was yummy. so i always picked the skin off... anwyays, the other dishes were all prwetty good too. overall, nice restaurant... yummy food. JJ always picks the bestest restaurant.

after dinner, as if we weren't full enough, we went to PuDong for "tea". she parked the lexus, and we went up top to look at PuXi from Pudong. it was buuutiful. PuXi is soooooooooooooooo much nicer than PuDong. she said the only good thing about PuDong is that u can see PuXi from it. heheheee... so true. i took a bunch of pictures, but since it was night, and my camera was the little one (i.e. the crap one), and i had no tripod, really, the pictures turned out not as well as i had hoped. oh well. ... but then, all of a sudden, there were fireworks!!! dunno what the occassion was, but it was prettty fireworks. ...

finally, we went into the restaurant, called "red dot"... half of the restaurnat was under construction so it was dusty, and JJ didn't like it already. (sitting outside was out of the question cuz i was sick. wind = more sick). so we sat inside, and SS and I decided to get the tiramisu, but only after a really really long debate about what else we could get (cuz JJ can't eat tiramisu) ... when we finally ordered the tiramisu, the stuipd waitress was like "oh, we ran out for the evening" ... this waitress was standing RIGHT THERE when were debating about hte tiramisu, she couldn't have told us earlier that they ran out?!?!?! she had to let us debate for like 10minutes and then ordered before telling us?!?! wtf?!?! so, JJ got mad, and we left. we headed next door for a place called "Lavazza" - which i'm SURE i've seen elsewhere, i.e. in canada somewhere... WHERE?!?!? ... anyways, it's an Italian restaurant, with lotsa white ppl, but i didn't say anything to anyone... *sigh* i'm not special here... lotsa ppl speak english. ... but it's so fun pretending not to speak any chinese. heheheee.... anyway, we sat down, i went pee, and then we ordered. JJ had an earl grey tea thing, SS had a kiwi smoothi thing, and i had a honey lemon tea... with waaaay too much honey. we also ordered two cakes - one tiramisu, and one chocolate banana tart. the latter was yummier. ... shortly after our desserts came, the owner of the restaurant came over, and was like "two cakes for three girls isn't enough. here's another one, on the house". we were like "WHA?! oh okay thanks!" ... 'cept i was like "WHAT?!?!?!?!?!?!" the whole time... but i guess my JJ's used to getting free things with her status and all (but he had no idea who she was, just that she's extremely pretty). anyways, so we enjoyed our cakes, and SS took pictures of JJ and me. but then the owner came by again and took pictures of the 3 of us, without being asked (we were actually planning on asking him). after eating/talking some more, he came over again to give us his business card! ... then later on, again to ask us for business cards (usually, u're supposed to give ur own business card when u receive one, but JJ and SS totally forgot). but neither of the two brought any with them, and i just plain don't have one, so he dissappointedly left. but later on, my JJ promised him that we would come back to the restaurant again, for pasta next time, not just dessert, and that she would give him a business card then - he was really really happy!!!! ... this WHOLE time, after he took our pictures for us, SS and I were like "he likes u" to JJ. hehehee... and the whole time, she was like "maybe" (in english, all in english. "maybe" is one of the few english words she knows)... it went from "i think he likes u" to "he likes u", to "100% he likes u" to "u're married!" etc etc etc. don't worry, she didn't hit on him back. but she was uber confused, cuz she hasn't been hit on in so long... and then she finally realized that she didn't wear her wedding ring that day!! aha! so that's why. ya... it was funny. ... she's gorgeous, i'm surprised other guys didn't hit on her... but considering the owner the restaurant did, that's just wicked! hahahaa!!!! ... he's not bad looking either! ...

anyways, then i finally went home. it was the FUNNEST day in shanghai i've EVER had (that i remember). my JJ rocks!!!!
