officially starting my travel blog... heheheee...

so, i'm in SF now, and it's frdiay, and i'm updating what i've been doing these past few days... well, 2 days really.

wednesday: got up way early to get to the airport. got to airport, said bye to andrew, went thru customs, where the dude was so extremely racist (he mocked me but was mainly okay, but kept on talking about other ppl in a not-so-nice way). then, i couldn't resist the shopping urge... so i ended up buying "Deception Point" by Dan Brown, and a travel pillow (it has tiny little polysterene beads or smt like, smooshable and cool feeling, but otherwise a total ripoff cuz it's a reallly crappy pillow cuz it chokes me)... on the plane, i met these two ppl who were going to a conference in cali. they were nice, and smart. i like smart ppl. talking to dumb ppl makes me want to hurt them. :P ... anyways, the flight was okay, i didn't feel like throwing up, etc. the onboard movie was "Failure to launch", which i'm glad i didn't pay to see... it's not that good. and u know what? i don't like matthew mcconaughty (whatever)'s accent...

anyways, landing in SF, i got my luggage and waited for billy to pick me up. he's got a super distinctive car - a light blue Mini with checkered stripes in the front and checkered top. haven't seen another one like it. anyways, he was sick, so he actually took the day off that day. after he picked me up, we went to what he called the "Nazi" ramen store. cuz their service is crap, and the wait is too long. it's a funky store, cuz u actually hafta write your name on this sheet on the outside of the store, and then they come out and call ur name, take ur order, and then u wait (again). usually, the wait's really long [i.e. around dinner time], but we only waited like 20minutes this time. i had the ... n/m i forgot, but it was the bottom one on the left column - like that helps anyone! ... anyways, it was so YUMMY!! it was the second time i've had Ramen (EVER) in two days! cuz i went out with annie/jh/adelaide on tuesday for lunch and we went to a Ramen restaurant on Baldwin (Konnichiwa?). but the one in SF was better. it was YUMMY!!!! ... billy's wasn't so yummy, he got the Napa soya-soup one. i got some pork one. the pork was sweet. mmm... bulgogi and sweet pork = i think i like meat that's sweet!!!!!

After lunch, billy dropped me off at Stanford University. Stanford is in this 'city' (?) called Palo Alto, which is full of really expensive houses. the houses aren't that big, but are apparently worth millions... i guess sorta like Leaside, but the houses are a lot nicer than Leaside houses... cuz they're not cookie-cutter houses... they're all very distinctive. ... anyway, so billy dropped me off on campus, and OMG, it's soooooooooooooooo amazingly GORGEOUS!!! seriously, i was very very very very impressed! ... compared to U of T, ... actualy, no, u can't even compare the two cuz they're so different!!! All the buildings on campus (okay, almost all) have the same style - spanish colonial style or smt like that, and all of them have "wa pian" on the roof, not shingles!!! (dunno english name) sooooooooooooo gorgeous. i'll post pics later. ... my favourite part was the bookstore tho, cuz i'm a nerd. U of T bookstore is a friggin' warehouse compared to the stanford bookstore! it looks better than Indigo!!! gebus!!! ... and their water fountains were so nice (on campus, not in the library), and they had actual fountains, and everything was "tile" (not the little white chunks ,but big chunks that doesn't protrude or leave gaps) ... anwyays, i can't even describe it, it was basically gorgeous.

after being scared shitless by billy's cell phone ring (it's a kid laughing.. but the kid reminds me of a kid in The Ring), i decided to leave the bookstore and get picked up... so billy picked me up, and we went home, in Sunnyvale. billy lives in the basement, and he's got cloth 'curtains' everwhere. heheheee... but it's very neat, huge contrast with my room. and i get my own room!!! it was Sinyee's room, but she moved back to TO, so i get her room for the week. :D yay! it's a nice house, homey. ... after awhile (watching cartoons from when we were little), we went back to Palo Alto and had dinner. i think they were in the mood for Italian, so we went to this one Italian restaurant, which sucked ass. I ordered a Caprese (mozarella + tomato + basil). but the one at Marche tasted better!!!!!! there were all of 3 slices of tomato, and 3 slices of mozarella cheese. and ONE basil leaf. ... basically, i ate the slices of tomato, and only a little bit of mozarella. ... billy said the mozarella tasted like crap too... (i couldn't tell... my palate ain't as picky as his!!!) anyhow. then we had gelato, and i couldn't finish it. it's really good. cuz it's not as thick as yummy haagan daz ice cream, but just as yummy. ... then we went home, and by this time, it was already like 9PM... which is Midnight Toronto time, so i was beat already . but then billy talked to my fellow-leehom-fan Steph, and she came over, and we had wine while i was nearly passing out from being so tired. ... i don't remember details, but eventually i went to sleep in my very own room.
