monday, went to get metropass at smt like 2:30. they started selling at noon. and guess what, they were sold out - WTF!!! it was the first day of selling too!! big sign said "next shipment on tuesday. please come early" ... so, i got there on tuesday at 9:30, and there were already like 40+ in front of me!!! it was NUTS!!!!! we waited and waited and waited, and it was cold! so, 10AM rolls on by, and this stupid sac girl comes out, and says "we have a SLIGHT problem: we don't actually have the metropasses" ... oh, isn't that grand?!? then she started walking back towards the building - without an explanation, or ANYTHING!!! so somebody yelled out "When are they coming in?!", and she goes "sometime between 9 and 3... so you have two choices: either go do whatever u need to do and come back [and line up again, tho she didn't say this part], OR you can wait 'til they're delivered" .... RIIIIGHT, cuz we have nothing else better to do than to stand outside in the cold for five more hours!!! AND now that we've been waiting for >30min, we REALLY want to wait for another hour again, later on in the day! what an idiot!!! ... so she goes back in, and after about 10min, she comes out and says "if your name is on the reserve list from yesterday, u don't hafta wait, come back when we have the passes" and goes back in again. nothing about the rest of the ppl that were waiting since before 10, and are not on the reserve list!! BITCH! by this time, there were like 100+ ppl in line already. gebus!!!! so i asked the guy behind me to save my spot in line, while i go yell at them. he was nice enough to say yes. so, i go in, and "yell" at them, and this one guy was nice and put our "staff" (i pretended to be) names down on a list so we'll get metropasses for sure without waiting. hehehee... finally!!! ... so i go back in line, and whispered my story to the guy behind me cuz he saved my spot for me - he was nice, so yay. ... later on in the day, at like 5, cuz that was the only time i had to go, i go there, and the incompetent SAC ppl aparently "lost" the list that my name was on! but it didn't matter any more, cuz there about 4 ppl in front of me, so i didn't hafta wait long. AND, they totally didn't even scan ur Tcards, basically anybody could've gotten the cheaper metropasses yesterday. sac is so incompetent. they should hire more competent ppl.
in other news. went to PI's xmas party yesterday. oh before that, let me just say that the IMS xmas party free "wine" was absolute shit. It literally tasted like water with some sour grape flavour and alcohol. it was NASTY. but yesterday, at my PI's party, it was soooooooooooooooooooooo good!!! unforunately, i had to drive so i could only drink one glass (i was also leaving early...)... grrrr! but omg, the party was sooooooooooo nice! so that's what fancy shmancy doctor parties are like... everyone there other than our little 'group' were clinicians!!!! and his "condo" is soooooooooo nice!! didn't actually go into where he lives, just the party room and the whole everything was soooooooooo nice! everyone that lives there are multinaires (i asked the security guard...)... oh, and i was the youngest person there all night, 'cept for this little girl that came in, she was like 6 or so... so she beat me out by a lot, but other than her, i was the youngest!!! hahahahaaa! (i like being the youngest) anyways, there were no other ppl from the "Research" side of neurology there that day. i did meet the resident-in-chief tho, and she was really nice. (yes, everything was really "nice") i forgot her name now... i'll ask again. oops! and then kat came right before we were gonna leave,... she talked to hiro for a bit, and i pretended to know what Hiro was tlaking about... jose and miguel drank a lot - and they were FUNNAY! hahahahaa! i like funny and talkative drunks, not obnoxious drunks. and then somebody started singing xmas songs really loud (he sounded good tho, so it's okay), and others chimed in. hehheheee... some of them were more church songs than xmas songs, so i was like "wtf?! sing rudolph!!!!" but they weren't taking requests!!! (and i said that really quietly, to myself, so no one cared/listened/heared anyway... :P) ... anyway. the food was AMAZING. they had these ginormous shrimp with yummy seafood sauce, and like, LOTS of thjese ginormouse shrimp. AND they had this really really nice fruit plate (it was also ginormous), and cheese platter, and pita thingy platter, and this other cheese thing i didn't wanna try. AND! ya, ther'e sanother AND. there were all these ppl coming around serving us all this other really good food! like thai rolls, thai skewered chicken breast with peanut sauce, mini burgers, sushi, salmon in a roll thingy, sooooooo much stuff!!! and btw, carbonated pomegranate juice is really good! man, it was such a good party!!!! at first, i was so scared for the party, but now i realize how much fun it is!! it was amazing!! :D very happy, very very cool party!!!!
