thumbs

*sigh* thumbs... we, as primates, have a special thing called an opposable thumb.  it's actually quite useful, wouldn't u agree??  so, it sux when they don't work anymore... *sigh*

went to see my fam. doc on monday for my thumbs.  let's talk about one thumb at a time:
LEFT THUMB: these new [cheap] eppendorf tubes that dick has bought are fucking impossible to open.  i strain my thumb all the time, trying to open them.  and what do u know, now i have tendonitis in my left thumb.  doc rx-ed me a non-steroid anti-inflammatory drug, and it's an arthritis drug!  yay!  fun times....  i have arthritis.  i'm supposed to c a physiotherapist for it... grrrreat.
RIGHT THUMB: this thumb has been 'broken' since i was 2.  i remember some little bitch in preschool bent my thumb all the way back.  when i told my dad, i guess he ignored my pain.  'til i was 5, when my aunt discovered, whilst i was playing with Cass, that my thumb was fucked up.  so, 3 yrs after the initial insult, my mom finally believed me that my thumb was weird, and took me to see a doctor.  i had multiple xrays taken of my little hand, and had it been probed and plastered by a plethora of doctors, technicians, nurses, etc etc etc.  the most interesting of which was these cortisone injections right into my thumb joint.  apparently, that's supposed ot hurt A LOT, but i didn't cry [the doctor was very imipressed by me.  but i was so used to needles, i totally didn't care about another big needle.  whatever.  and no, i didn't get a lollipop.  i got jipped!  dang chinese doctors in china...].  anyway, surgery was planned for when i was 9, but i came here before that, and the doctors here were just as incompetent.  ... FINALLY tho, on monday, my doctor said that i have trigger thumb!  actually, i saw a sickkids thing on tv before, and this little girl had thumbs like mine, and so i already knew what it was called, just never had a doctor tell me that i have it.  so, she's gonna refer me to a plastic surgeon, cuz that's the ONLY way that it'll be fixed - by surgery.  grrreat.

in short, i have one arthritic thumb, and one trigger happy thumb, as dan put it.  :P  hello world, i am fucked up.
