movie review

Curse of the Golden Flower (whatever it's called):
Um... i wanted to watch it just cuz Jay Chou was in it, and cuz it's a chinese movie.... so, um, it sucks. can we say, WHAT THE HELL!?!? why is there SOOOOOO much cleavage?! i thought it was supposed to be at least partially historically significant, but it's not, AT ALL!!

historical butcheries in this movie:
- i thought only the emperor is allowed to wear yellow/gold?? EVERYONE was wearing yellow/gold in the movie!!!
- was Zhang Yimou trying to get guys to jack off in this movie, with all the cleavage?! it's not even artistic! well, i didn't think it was artistic AT ALL. chinese culture is usually modest!!!
- has anyone else been to the forbidden palace?! i REALLY doubt that they had carpetting OUTSIDE in ANY palace!! AND, i doubt that they had stained beams in the palace with red/yellow/green and lighting in it back in the 10th century or whenever this was set!
- The emperor would not kill his only three sons!!!!!

AND, Jay chou singing sucks! after listening to so much leehom, Jay chou really sucks. his songs are good, but his voice is so weak and hollow-sounding!!! too bad if u like him.

and btw, the distance between Beijing and Suzhou is really really really friggin' far. ur horse would've died half-way there. ... unless the setting was in Nanjing, which was the capital for not very long... in which case, it's a little more believable... but the palace at Nanking wasn't that big.

Good points about the movie: Gong Li is a good actress. Jay Chou was better than i thought he'd be, but still, rather laughable.

Other bad points: Chow YunFat butchered proper 'emperor' mandarin, AGAIN. the other two crown princes were bad actors!

Another movie: "The battle of red cliff"
TAKESHI is playing Zhu Geliang?!?! OMG! hahahaha! taht's hilarious!! i mean, i love takeshi and all, but REALLY?!?!? .... *cough* takeshi's not all that smart.... so the role doesn't really suit him, considering Zhugeliang is supposed to be one of the smart ppl, ever!!! i'm so mean....

Tony Leung is playing ZhouYu. it's gonna be an awesome movie!!!!!! Takeshi, Tony, and John Woo directing! Can't wait for this movie!
