Montreal trip

usually, it takes me 4.5hrs (with stopovers) to reach my aunt's place from mine. This time, it took SEVEN hours!!!! SEVEN! Andrew drove most of the way cuz i was scared shitless. driving in the snow storm, huuuuuuge snow storm, without snow tires, and with UNplowed roads! we saw at least 50cars on the sides of the road, flipped over, 360ed, 180ed, skidded out, heads/butts/middles in the snow bank(s). it was MADNESS!!!!! there were some cars that slid all the way into the very middle of the median, which is in itself about 4-5 lanes wide - which means, they plowed through a giant snowbank, and then thru about 2 lanes of 2 feet-deep snow!!!! madness....

Montreal itself = snow city! they actually have people that come and TOW away the snow from the end of ur driveway! cuz otherwise, there's so much snow over the winter that there would basically be no way of getting anywhere. i wish we had that service... i can't see anything when i back out of my drivway due to the giant mountain of snow at the end of the driveway.

At the end of our 7 hr adventure, we were shooed quickly into my aunt's car, and speedily left for Stade Olympique, or at least near there cuz my aunt's former univ friend lives there. her son is 20, and now in 1st yr med at McGill (was Med-P). so we basically compared UT and McGill, and Toronto and Montreal through all of dinner. it was fun. i learned a lot. we have the same steth and BP cuff, and the same Welch-Allyn stickie pads. haha!

the next few days in Mtl were freezing cold. minus 16-ish. we went to Schwartz and La Belle Province for smoked meat sandwiches and poutine, respectively. couldn't bear the freezing walk to Fairmont nor GG. man it was freaking cold. ....

then, we played Wii with Felix for the next two days. yes, TWO days. after getting lost in Laval. Carrefour Laval is NOT the same as Centre Laval. wtf!!!!!!

and now i'm home. way back = 4.5hrs. yup.

and i have now vowed (in my head) to starve my children cuz otherwise, they'll get waaaaaaay too fat in this crazy society of ours. and they're getting McDs maybe twice a year. KFC, once a year. that's it.
