shopping in china

Shopping in China is so much fun!  for many reasons....

Number one reason is cuz Leehom is everywhere I am!!!  (only cuz i don't do clothing shopping, i do a lot more electronics/etc shopping!  I love that he endorses electronics instead of girly stupid stuff.  I saw him today at the cell phone area [Sony Ericsson], and then on the escalator for some sorta laptop [china brand?], and then at Nikon!!!)  I also see Takeshi all the time at the Olympus booths.  YUM!  You can imagine my happiness in camera stores.  heheheee....

Number two reason is cuz i rock at bargaining!!  Got a USB mouse today for 25yuan ($4), and then a 16G Kingston HC SD card for 200yuan, which is the equivalent of paying $29.50CAD for it (add 13% tax)!!  woohoo!!!  Next I need a Bluetooth headphone thing for my cell phone, and an 8G USB key (can get it for 110yuan, still muchos cheaper than in Canada...)  Will love this electronic 'city' more when the beijing subway goes there!!!!

Also, every shopping centre (those bargaining ones, not those expensive ones [which i don't go]) has a giant food court!!  :D

Oh and when shopping, everyone tries to talk to you.  its rather disturbing... mostly cuz i usually haven't a clue what they're talking about - their quote their brandnames, but in Chinese, so "Sandisk" becomes "san di" which is "sandy" to me, and i'm like "whhhaaaat?" ... so i just end up running away from ppl who talk to me.  But today, it was hilarious cuz we walked by this one place, and they say tons of random things to pull you in.... and this one girl said "we have Nikon lenses" ... but lotsa places do... so then she said "We have Leehom!!!"!!!  obviously, THAT totally caught my attention!  so instead of running away, i looked at her.  How did she know!  she honestly picked the perfect person to say that to!!  even tho i didn't buy anything from them - there was a Nikon STORE literally next door, i went there instead.  they also had more leehom pictures.  :P

Oh, lenses here are a lot cheaper than in Canada.  My prime lens ($150 in Canada + tax) is 700yuan here (~$113) but i could prolly bargain it down to ~650ish.  gonna research lenses and buy one here.  :D:D:D:D
