interesting...

so... THAT's why she got married!
a childhood friend of mine, whom i have completely lost touch with for a very long time, got married a month ago.  I only knew cuz of common "friends" being tagged in pictures on Facebook... she's my FB friend now.  hahaa!  anyway, today she uploaded some pictures from a vacation she (just?) went on, and she's VERY obviously pregnant in it!  my first thought was "whoa, she got fat over one month" ... but then a close-up of her tummy was quite revealing.  she's probably at least 5-6mths now.  going back to her wedding pics, i can see the bump!  anywho, her now husband is errr... old and ugly.  who knows how they met and why she decided to shack up with him... he'd better be a GREAT guy (altho i have an inkling that he's not super duper nice), cuz he doesn't have much money either!  his parents paid for the "whole" wedding and it was at a CHINESE RESTAURANT!  yuck, much?!?!?  having part of ur reception there is fine, but ur WHOLE wedding & reception?!  the decorations/pictures/food/everything else were EXTREMELY tacky - I would classify it as my nightmare wedding.

Last but not least, i've been watching a show called Boston Med - it's pretty good!!  it's about medicine at the three [awesome-est!] hospitals in [the world] Boston - Mass Gen, Boston Children's, and Brigham Women's.  Three hospitals that i would LOVE to work at one day.  I always thought that they were the MECCAs of medicine and i still feel that, obviously.  but i've realized watching it that it's actually quite similar to what we see/do in Toronto!  I'm sure the staff at those hospitals are the most intelligent people in the world, but they're not all THAT different from our staff!!!  I'm happy to have come to this realization.  :D
